Bay leaves

Dried leaves of the laurel serve as this spice. Bay leaves add a spicy fragrance and a bitterish flavor to meals. They are used in marinades, soups, sauces, meats, stews, poultry, aspic, cooked fish as well as crawfish and other seafood dishes. When whole leaves were used in cooking they shall be discarded before serving.
