This spice is made from ground, dried rhizomes of ginger.
Ginger is an important ingredient of curry powder and many other seasonings. It is added to gingerbread, biscuits, cakes, puddings, pickles as well as many Asian vegetable meals. It serves for flavoring compotes, liqueurs, mulled wine and beer.
It is also added to marinated pumpkins, cucumbers, sauces, pâté, and tripe.
